Newbie Question: Solaris 8 and fonts

I have just installed the evaluation version of Exceed.
I have started Exceed as XDMCP Broadcast.
Now when connecting to an HP-UX (10.20) system, everything
is fine. When connecting to a Sun running Solaris 8,
fonts are tiny. I can start am xterm which uses reasonable fonts,
but the fonts in terminal (console) windows, on the login screen,
those used by the file manager etc. are just too small.
What can be done about that?
