Is there a way (i.e. registry hack) to hide the dialog window that says
FTP is Connecting to the current server, and that it is verifying the
username and password?

I have Exceed 7.1 and am using Windows 2000 Pro + SP4 etc.

After I create the FTP profile to a UNIX server, I double click and
connect fine. All settings are default, and I see that the FTP window
is pulling in Directory information for its cache.

However, as I drill down deeper into the directory, a Windows pops up
briefly, with the title of Connecting, and that it is verifying username
and password. It flashes over and over again, and doesn't seem to stop.
I am assuming this is FTP crawling thru the current folder and caching
the objects, but why does it need to verify over and over again? It
does not do this on every UNIX machines, just certain ones (old ones??)

If this dialog window popping up is a normal response, then is there a
registry hack to hide that window?
