As for your issue #2 I can help.
My guess is your meaning you would log into a machine from the CDE login
screen, and it pretty much "looked" like you were sitting at a unix
machine. Meaning, all the windows are in one nice big single window.
Unless someone looked closly and saw your start menu bar or something
they would think you had a unix machine there. If so... this is easy to
make it work this way.
It sounds like you are starting in multi window mode. You are going to
want single window mode. Try this.
Assuming the unix box you are connecting to is in your subnet, try
starting the XDMCP broadcast.
Pick the unix box from the list and you should get your CDE login prompt
as you used to. Login and I suspect it will look just like you used to
have it. When you were starting a CDE workspace, with 4 dtterm windows,
they really has nothing to do with Exceed in itself. Thats your dt
configuration settings in your $HOME directory(.dt and .dtprofile dirs)
If this all looks like what you wanted. I think your set. If your not on
the same subnet... you will need to play around with indirect or direct
configs to get at the machine. More detail than I feel like going to
right now, at least try the above to see if that is what you are
desiring.

Subject: [EXCEEDUSERS] version differences: v6.2 ==> 9.0
2. v6.2 Exceed.exe opens a "Common Desktop Environment" workspace that
includes 4 dterm windows, and a icon toolbar that includes other
utilities
like mail, etc..... v9 opens a single terminal window with an external
tool
bar. I can see some workspace icons, but they don't have anything in
them... Is this evidence that someone created a customized installation
for
v6.2 that we may need to recreate for v9?
