The screen doesnt show any command line

Hello when I try to connect to using the Wizard put in my IP and the
session user and pass:
specify of course the type of OS, then connect (no errors). But once
connected I only have a cursor X in a grey dotted display - no xterm
when that was what I set in the command...
Any ideas, thnx.
Might be a very easy one for you Im sure.
