1) You should install (reinstall) Japanese fontpack for Exceed
on your Win'XX machine

2) You should install Japanese (CJK, Multilingual, i18n e.t.c.)
support for Solaris

3) You should use Japanese 'locale' on Solaris box. What is your
current locale ? Try :
$ locale
