Dear Sir.

We have encountered a strange problem with Exceed 7.0.0 and Exceed 7.1.0
running on Windows 2000

One of our customers could not start Exceed 7.0.0 properly after they
removed Exceed 6.0.0 and installed Exceed 7.0.0.
Only the splash window showed up, but it hung and Exceed didn't start

Before they used Exceed 6.0.0 on Win2Kand everything was fine.
The customer tried several re-installation of Exceed 7.0.0 and even an
complete re-installation of the OS, Win2K and a new Exceed 7.0.0, but
the problem was still there.

Then they contacted us and we did some tests.
It showed up that this was caused because theirs printer was connected
to the serial port, Com1.

This behaviour is independent of the used printer and drivers, or the
settings of the serial port or which serial port is used.

Changing it to a parallel or a network port, Exceed 7.0.0 started up and
everything is OK.

I don't know if there is a patch for that, if so, could you please
indicate me where I can download it from.
Thank You very much in advance.

Best regards/Med venlig hilsen
