If you can execute REXEC from VBA by opening a dos prompt you may be able to run a script
on unix.
something like this: REXEC hostname -l username test.ksh; (before REXEC you may have to
use whatever
the comand to open a DOS prompt, such cmd if Win2k or command for Win98 or 95). Then it
may look like
cmd REXEC hostname -l username test.ksh
I tried passing the password, but it doesn't take it. It still prompts
for the password.
When it connects to unix, it goes to the user default(home) directory.
Unless you are setup to execute the script from any directory, you
may have to use the full path to the script. Also withing the script you may
use CD command so it changes to the script directory.
I am not familiar, much, with VBA, so, just a thought.
Thanks,
Siva

Subject: [EXCEEDUSERS] VBA/Unix/Oracle Question
Has anyone written code that will execute an Oracle SQL statement on a UNIX
from an Excel VBA code? I'm looking for a sample set of code. We go
through Hummingbird to get into Unix.
