Sorry for asking the same question twice but at the time I posted I also
had upgraded my outlook from 2000 to 2003 and didn't notice till recently
that it had broken my rule for exceedusers and stopped delivering the mail
from the group. In any case if you read directly below my issue I have a few
users here that I would like to help with it. thanks

How exactly is this same issue corrected for telnet sessions. I tried
following the same fix but the configuration of the keyboard mapping is a
bit different here and tinkering didn't seem to cure the problem

When you are at the us.kbf Xkeys window, double-click on the backspace key.
If you look at the Shifted radio button, it will read "Delete". Click on the
Shifted button, then choose Filler from the Symbol Set. You should then see
three keysyms under there.
Double click on the NoSymbol and this should now be the value for the
Shifted keymapping.
Save the changes and you should be set.

I am not sure by what you mean:
Clear the "Shifted" mapping for the backspace key. This will restore the
functionality to the backspace key.
I clicked on 'Edit' for the Primary in the Input Window and a keyboard
(XKeys) window came up..
