I am using Exceed on a Windows Terminal Server to connect to Servers
Running AIX 4.3.3 by using the Telnet in to generate an X Windows Session
back.

When the X Session is created, the user is assigned a TCP port number over
6000 for the X traffic, and appears to keep the same port number each time
they connect.

This is not a problem in theory as the firewall between the WTS and the AIX
box allows the standard x11 ports of 6000 to 6063 though. The problem seems
to be that some users are being assigned ports above this range and
consequently can't connect. I have not checked every user that cannot
connect so far, but the highest I've found at the moment is 6135. I don't
want to adjust the ports on the firewall, and wondered if there is a way of
solving this. How come the ports seem to be permanently assigned to
individual users? Will the port numbers keep rising if more users are added
as users leave, rather than reassigning the previously used ports?

Is there any way that Exceed can be configured to pick a port from the 6000
to 6063 range, rather than assigning a port to an individual user?

Many Thanks in Advance

Matt
