Have you tried updating your font path ("xset +fp tcp/app-fwb-04:7100",
"xset fp rehash", "xset -q") or querying it ("fsinfo -server
app-fwb-04:7100") from the Unix side? That might trigger something
relevant in Exceed's logs, too. Is there anything in the font server's
log?

Font Server difficulty
I am running Solaris 8.0 on a server and connecting to Windows 2000
clients using Exceed 9.0. I am able to start and stop my font server
and I can list lots of fonts using the fslsfonts command. I can add my
font server to the list of font databases in Exceed. After I have the
font server running and I start Exceed I see the following in the
Exceed.log file:
Screen 0 Dimensions: top:0, left:0, width:3200, height:1200.
Font Server 'tcp/app-fwb-04:7100' on socket 2
Version: 2.0
Release number: 6000
Vendor: X Consortium
Font Server has the following catalogue(s):
all
Connection read error at 2674
Connection read error at 2728
Connection read error at 2755
Connection read error at 2790
Connection read error at 2848
Connection read error at 3005
The catalog entry in my fontserver.cfg file is as follows:
catalogue =/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/F3bitmaps/,
/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/Type1/,
/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo/,
/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/misc/,
/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/,
/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi/
When I open the font management utility in Exceed and try to list the
fonts for the font server, the list is empty. I know the fonts are
available on the server because I can list them all using the flslfonts
command. I can also change the number of fonts that are listed with a
flsfonts command by commenting out some of the directories in the
catalog and then restarting the font server.
Does anyone have an idea why these fonts do not show up in Exceed or why
there might be a Connection read error being reported in the log file?
I am able to use Exceed normally by using local fonts but I would like
to be able to access the fonts on the fontserver.
Thank you,
David A. Messenger
