    Includes Color and DHS Annotation
From superior image viewing and handling performance to robust annotation capabilities, users have the most complete set of features with which to display, print, and mark up a broad variety of image file formats.

When working with multi-page image files, the Document Control allows users to reorder pages, as well as insert, delete and append images to an existing image file. Performance is also optimized when retrieving and viewing page images by image caching and background pre-fetching. While improving performance, this technique also minimizes memory requirements.

Industry Standard Annotations Made Easy (in version 3.x only)
Many work environments require personnel to add comments and notes to documents before forwarding them on within an organization. With the full-featured annotation capabilities provided by Hummingbird's annotation control, users now have the ability to edit and mark up image files in the same manner they have become accustomed to with paper files. Users can choose to save annotations in the image file or in a database. Full control over annotation style is provided, supporting the ability to select color, fonts, fill style, and fill shape, as well as the ability to import custom bitmap images as annotations:

    • Highlighting - Select specific text or areas & choose highlight color
    • Redaction - An opaque overlay to block out sensitive or confidential information with security
    • Sticky notes - An electronic "sticky note" that can be viewed by clicking on the note icon
    • Add text - Type supplemental text information directly on the image
    • Arrows & Lines - Add arrows or lines of varying sizes & colors
    • Freehand scribble - Draw freehand on an image
    • Rubber stamps - Add a customized "stamp" on the image
    • Read/write compatibility with Microsoft/Eastman Software format annotations
    • Read/Image conversion capability for Watermark annotated images
Broad Support for Color, Grayscale and Bi-tonal Image Files
The toolkit enables you to view 24-bit color images, as well as grayscale and bitonal black and white images. Additionally, 24-bit color images can be converted for viewing on 8-bit displays, and/or converted to grayscale or bitonal images. Support is provided for image compression and decompression of CCITT Group 3 and Group 4, JPEG, PCX, and more. Image file handling is also provided for the following formats: TIFF, BMP, CALS, JPEG, JBIG, MODCA and PCX/DCX, as well as multi-page file reading and writing for TIFF, DCX and PDF.
